NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHING!! (Massive blog update)

What could that title possibly mean???? Neppy has found someone else to write with???

The answer to that is a hard no. This blog will always be one that I’ll run myself without outside help. Which is exactly the topic of today coincidentally! That joke wasn’t supposed to fit so well but it does so hurray! Anyhow, allow me to introduce you to Nepiki!

Pose 1.1

Before I continue, allow me to give someone a special spotlight. The art above, as well as three others that you will see very soon have all been drawn by torivortexstar on Deviantart, who has also done an excellent job by helping me with designing my original character. I’ve always wanted to have my own original character anyway, and I figured that having a site mascot would also be a very good idea so I took care of both birds with one stone. I want to stray away from having Neptune as poster-girl and instead make it more my own place. Nepiki is the name I usually go by when Neppy is taken (which is very often), and also the username that I will be using on WordPress from now on. As for how Nepiki came to be:

Characters OC

Nepiki is a mix of two (three) characters into one, being Hibiki and Neptune/Purple Heart. Hibiki is my favourite character in all of fictional media, while I also still wanted to have Neptune be relevant in the character. I gave my ideas to torivortexstar and together we created the original character I will be using for both my own personal reasons but also for this blog! And with that, I also wanted to share some other updates:

  1. Since I’m making this site more personal, I’m most likely changing domain names soon though I want to find out first how everything works in that regard (with mailing, subscriptions etc.). The Nep’s Gaming Paradise domain is still active till April, which means that I might not do it right away.
  2. For next week, I’m going to try out some new themes. I really like the theme I currently have, but it’s complete asinine when I want to share something on social media. I’m still saving this theme just in case because I do have a cheap solution for that problem, but I want to see if there are other themes that make it easier for me. Unfortunately I have been unable to increase the size of the banners through WordPress itself or through CSS which instead just stretched out the image, and nothing I tried prevented that from happening. That’s probably because the image is already automatically resized by the theme, but if someone has an idea what I could do to get around this problem I would greatly appreciate it!
  3. The reviews are getting an entirely new format. The reviews themselves aren’t changing… probably, but I’m just making them look more professional. The review chart, for example, is also changing to give it a more professional look. I’m actually trying out a different writing style for reviews as well, which will debut with the Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light review. That review is already well on its way to being finished, but I just want to actually beat the game before I finish it off. I’m most likely also going to change my old reviews to match this new format, at the very least the banners. Possibly rewrite some older reviews? We’ll see.

That’s… actually most of the update. I’m going to look more into how domain switching works. My Twitter hashtag will also most likely change to fit this new domain change. Anyhow, I hope you’ll look forward to the new review format, since I’m going to make it real professional!
